Rating
Auto-AOE that triggers every time you gain or spend a diamond. Among the strongest Powers for Regent's diamond-cycle decks — the more diamonds you move per turn, the more damage stacks. Genesis alone (2-3 diamonds per turn) already produces 6-12 AOE damage every turn.
Since Regent has so many cards that generate or consume diamonds, Black Hole essentially turns every play into an AOE. Mob fights auto-clear, and boss fights accumulate a lot of chip damage. A top priority to play the moment you draft it.
How to Use
- Play it as early as possible so every later diamond movement converts to damage
- Triggers on both spend and gain. Fallen Star (spend 2) fires the effect twice
- In multi-enemy fights each enemy takes 3-4, so total damage dealt scales hard
Synergies
- Genesis: 2-3 diamonds at the start of every turn, giving you 6-12 automatic AOE per turn
- Shining Strike: +2 diamonds per turn, triggering Black Hole twice each turn
- Radiance: +1-2 diamonds adds 3-8 AOE just for playing it
- Particle Barrier: Repeated 2-diamond spends means Black Hole damage keeps stacking
Pick Priority
- Early Act 1: High priority. Cheap 1-cost Power. Moving diamonds immediately turns into AOE, clearing mobs fast
- Late Act 1: Top priority. Once you have diamond-gen Powers like Genesis the auto-damage is crushing
- Act 2+: Top priority. Core damage source for diamond-stack decks. Often solves damage problems on its own
- Boss reward: Top priority. Great in long fights. Irreplaceable against multi-enemy boss setups
